Working for Peanuts

Toured the new Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates offices this week courtesy of the remarkable Paige Braddock, Creative Associates EVP and, using whatever spare time she finds in an alternate universe, Jane’s World mastermind. Here we are in the office of staff artist Vicki Scott, who decided to one-up her colleagues’ action-figure interior decorating habits with her own mural, and also co-created the just-released first Peanuts graphic novel…

This wk’s strips: “Percent from Heaven”/”Speakeasy”

This wk’s strips: “The Giveaway”/”Distract Record”

We’re so bitter here at Bitter Base, we just missed posting these for Valentine’s Day. Ugh!

This wk’s strips: “Bettin’ Fools”/”Irresolute”

Lord knows if anyone got the Duck-Duck-Goose gag in panel 2 of “Irresolute”, let alone was able to read the blackboard, but that’s what Wikipedia’s for. Oddly, I learned it, and have only ever played it, on cross-country skis.

This wk: “The Shape of Things” plus BONUS!

There’s never any way to know these things, but I swear, I drew mine first. That, or somebody owes someone a Coke.

This week’s strip: “She Drives Me Crazy”

December 28th, 2010

This wk’s strips: “Memorized Lane”/”Soap Opera”

Last strips for 2010! I don’t get the appeal of non-drive-thru car washes at all. Coming of age in California, where a learner’s permit is basically the whole point of turning 15, I totally lived for getting to roll through the crazy tunnel and get hit by brushes.

This wk’s strips: “Countdown Clocked”/”Voice Female”

These strips aren’t funhouse-mirror stretchy when you click on them, by the way…I just haven’t been able to find a thumbnail view that isn’t either stretchy or tiny. A website overhaul is underway and will solve this somehow, I’m sure…

A little Cuba in Miami

The Cuba: My Revolution gang at Miami Book Fair a couple weeks back. More nice photos are up at the Vertigo blog.
