Bitter Girl, the comic strip for the cranky urban girl in all of us, began as angry, needy doodles in the margins of a journal during an ill-fated affair. It first ran as a full-page feature in Minneapolis’  FocusPoint in 1998. From 2001-2012, the strip was distributed by Q Syndicate, appearing in the Dallas Voice, Philadelphia Gay News, Pridesource, Seattle Gay News, South Florida Gay News, Gay Calgary and Lesbian Connection, to name a few.

BITTER GIRL: THE EARLY YEARSThis was the strip’s original format in FocusPoint. Q Syndicate asked me to switch to a four-panel format for new material and whittle any reusable full-pagers down accordingly. Easier said than done! None of these made the cut.
